The Weblogsystem will be unavailable on Monday 26th of October between 8am and 10am. We will upgrade the system to a new version. During the upgrade the weblogs are not available for visitors and bloggers.

The weblog system is updated with some new features:

• Plain HTML editor
  In the writing tab, you can now choice between Simple and Export mode. We have added an extra tab 'Plain HTML'.
• Sorting of categories
  We have added the functionality to sort the display of categories.
• Search for blogs
  Especially for people with a lot of weblogs, we have added a search functionality in the tab Blog settings.
• Title of weblog
  the default title of new weblogs have been changed from "Weblog of <name>" to "Weblog Title". User can change this when they start using the weblog.
• Create new weblog
  It is now possible to create a new weblog yourself. This provides you with the possibility to start multiple weblogs or create group weblogs by yourself.
• Social Bookmarking links
  You can add links to a post to easily add a post to one of the social bookmarking sites. It will add links to Delicious, Blackboard Scholar, Digg, Facebook, Furl, Stumble Upon, Technorati, Google Bookmarks, and the Dutch Nujij.nl. You can find this in the Expert Mode under Text Renderers.

On Thursday 4th of December between 8 and 10 am, we will update the weblogsystem. This update provides some new functionalities:

Op maandag 21 juli is het weblogsysteem geupdate naar een nieuwe versie. In deze nieuwe versie zitten natuurlijk weer vele verbeteringen:

• Widgets
  Hiermee kan je je weblog nog verder aanpassen met modules. Er zijn allerlei widget standaard aanwezig, zoals tagcloud widget, comment widget en nog veel meer.
• Skins
  Er zijn allerlei nieuwe skins bijgekomen, waardoor je nu de keuze hebt uit meer dan 30 verschillende skins. Daarnaast kan je natuurlijk ook nog steeds je eigen css uploaden om de blog een geheel ander uiterlijk te geven.
• Special blogtypes
  Naast een ‘gewone blog’ kan je nu ook eenvoudig een fotoblog en podcastblog maken. Daarnaast is er nu de mogelijkheid om een blog aan te maken die de berichten van verschillende andere blogs combineert tot één blog.
• Admin interface
  De admin interface is geheel vernieuwd en biedt nu veel meer mogelijkheden, maar door de nieuwe interface is alles nog wel makkelijk en snel te vinden.
• Gezamenlijk met de Universiteit Leiden
  Naast de TU Delft gaan ook de medewerkers en studenten van de Universiteit Leiden gebruik maken van dit systeem. Dit biedt ook de mogelijkheid om gezamenlijk een blog bij te houden.

Al met al brengt deze update vele nieuwe mogelijkheden en verbeteringen. Des te meer reden om te beginnen met bloggen!

Handleiding Een weblog in 10 minuten  

When a weblog is created it will not automatically be visible in the "Find a weblog" screen. In order for it to appear there, you will need to change the blog settings. You will need to do this:

• Log in by selecting "Login..." from the left hand side of the screen.
• Type your netid and password and click "Log into admin"
• Select the tab "Blog settings" and select your personal blog from the list. (The list will usually consist of only one blog).
• In the "Display" tab activate the checkbox in front of "Include in public blog list" and click "Save".

From now on your weblog will appear when anyone searches on (a part of) your name.
